Smallhotels.com first appeared on the web in 1996 as part of an advertising campain promoting the small hotels of the Caribbean. After that program ran its course the domain remained in cyberspace as a random list of small hotels from around the world.

Now, with the emergence of social media and the instant information sharing capabilities that it brings, we have started fresh and are building a new portal for the small hotels and independent lodgings of the world from the ground up.
